Submissions for the 2nd Annual Karachi Film Festival, scheduled to be held next month, are now being accepted till May 11, as per an announcement made by Taimur Ahmed Suri, the project coordinator of the of the I Am Karachi Film Festival, at the Karachi Press Club on Saturday.
“We invite all filmmakers aged above 18, be they professionals, students or amateurs, to submit their entries,” said Suri, who is also an executive committee member of the Karachi Conference Foundation, which is organising the film festival in collaboration with the I Am Karachi consortium.
The festival, he said, would showcase films that provide insightful and innovative perspectives of Karachi and all facets of its urban existence, based around themes such as popular culture and intangible cultures.
The categories include short films, documentaries and experimental films, while the maximum duration has been set at 40 minutes.
All queries can be sent at karachifilmfestival@gmail.com, while information regarding the festival is also available across several social mediums.
Registration and auditions
The National Academy of Arts and Performance (Napa) will start registrations for musicians from Monday onwards, a Napa official said on Saturday.
Candidates can visit NAPA from 9am to 7pm to register. The registration process will continue for a week, after which, the schedule for auditions would be announced.
