Islamabad : While notifying the closure of privately-owned schools and colleges in Islamabad Capital Territory until May 31 in light of the outbreak of coronavirus, the Private Educational Institutions Regulatory Authority (PEIRA) has declared the period during which the campuses won’t open as summer vacation.
According to a PEIRA notification, no private school or college will be allowed to collect fee in advance except on a monthly basis during that period.
Only three to four staff members can attend their respective educational institutions to perform administrative duties, including payment of salaries to staff and utilities bills, only on the condition that all hygienic or health precautions are observed.
The private schools and colleges will pay all staff members both teaching and non-teaching salary regularly.
Though no gathering whatsoever is allowed in private educational institutions, students can be engaged for learning through online or social media and other appropriate technologies.
The regulator asked all private schools and colleges to ensure compliance with the orders in letter and spirit.
