LAHORE:On the direction of Inspector General of Police (IGP) Punjab Inam Ghani and Additional IGP Punjab Highway Patrol (PHP) Akram Naeem Bharoka, a meeting was held at Central Police Office under the chairmanship of DIG PHP Dr Abid Khan to review the situation of riverine check posts. The meeting reviewed the buildings of riverine check posts and the current condition of weapons, vehicles, motorcycles, boats and other equipment. It was decided in the meeting that suggestions for improvement of riverine check posts will also be sought from regional and district officers. Punjab Highway Patrol was given additional charge of monitoring a total of 49 riverine check posts, including five in Rawalpindi region, 10 in Sargodha region, 24 in DG Khan Region and 10 in Bahawalpur region.
