ReMIT trainings for SMEs
KARACHI: Revenue Mobilization for Investment and Trade (ReMIT) programme has initiated a series of seminars and workshops to support Pakistan in gaining its rightful place in the international trading environment.
The trainings are being implemented by the International Trade Centre, Geneva and funded by FCDO/UK Aid. The latest programme was conducted in Karachi last week in collaboration with Directorate General of Training and Research (DGTR Customs) with a focus on promoting SMEs for both men and women.
Twenty-five entrepreneurs from SMEs and seven Customs officers participated to benefit from the programme by gaining comprehensive knowledge of the Trade Facilitation Agreement (TFA) with a view to identify the obstacle, speed up clearances and making business environment more conducive.
Advisor Facilitation of ReMIT, Dr Jawad Agha stressed the need for implementation of TFA as it was important for Pakistan’s economic progress.
KCCI Senior Vice President Saqib Goodluck said the seminar was very useful for the members of KCCI where many SMEs were located. He appreciated the ReMIT team for this initiative.
