PESHAWAR: All arrangements are being made to arrange the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) power show in Swat on July 4, said Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) provincial chapter chief, Amir Muqam, on Thursday.

Talking to the media after presiding over party leaders and workers gathering at the PML-N provincial secretariat, he said the party central president Mian Shahbaz Sharif would attend the PDM public meeting scheduled for Swat.

The PML-N leader was critical of the federal and provincial budgets, adding these had nothing for the welfare of the people and were mere jugglery of words.

Rejecting the budges, he feared that these would lead to a further increase in poverty, joblessness and make life more difficult for the poor segments of the society who were already reeling under the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf rule.

Amir Muqam was highly critical of the recent speech made by Federal Minister for Defence Pervez Khattak on the floor of the National Assembly, accusing him of telling lies in the lower house of the parliament by claiming that poverty did not exist in the country, especially in KP.

The PML-N leader said Pervez Khattak landed himself in trouble when he tried to draw his comparison with Shahbaz Sharif who, he said, had well served the people of the biggest province of the country for a long time.

He believed that Pervez Khattak was no longer “Sadiq and Ameen” (honest and righteous) under Articles 62 and 63 of the Constitution after his recent speech in the National Assembly, saying the federal minister who had remained the chief minister of KP as well in the past had insulted the poor people by claiming the non-existence of poverty.
