PM chairs NICC meeting at ISI HQ
ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan Wednesday presided over a special meeting of recently established National Intelligence Coordination Committee (NICC) at Inter-Services Intelligence headquarters here.
According to the Prime Minister Office, Director General Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) Lieutenant General Faiz Hameed welcomed the prime minister and federal ministers. The NICC, a platform for intelligence coordination/cooperation for unified and wholesome national intelligence assessment was notified by the government on January 22.
The meeting was attended by Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmed, Minister of Information and Broadcasting Fawad Chaudhry, heads of services’ intelligence agencies, Intelligence Bureau and Federal Investigation Agency.
A comprehensive briefing followed by discussion on enhanced intelligence cooperation was held. The prime minister appreciated the ongoing efforts and expressed satisfaction over the performance of the NICC.
