The All Paramedical Staff Federation (APSF) has approached the Ministry Capital Administration and Development (CAD) for implementation of the five-tier service structure approved by the government for the federal government health institutions four years back.

In a letter addressed to the CAD federal secretary, the APSF general secretary has brought into notice of the senior official of the ministry that the service structure has not been implemented at the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS), Federal Government Polyclinic (FGPC) and the National Institute of Rehabilitation Medicine (NIRM).

The letter says that the paramedical staff is still working in below BPS-9 and the posts of BPS-17 meant for the paramedical staff are lying vacant for four years.

Through the letter, the paramedical staff federation has demanded of the CAD Ministry to approve initial appointment of paramedics in BPS-12 and upgrade all incumbents in BPS-12 to BPS-14.

As per service structure, all incumbents in BPS-12 and BPS-14 are allowed two-step upgradation, while the paramedical staff serving in BPS-16 and BPS-17  is allowed an allowance at the rate of fixation in next grade.  The letter reminded the federal government that the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government had already implemented the service structure on the same pattern.

The paramedics have demanded of the Minister of State for CAD Dr. Tariq Fazal Chaudhry to intervene into the matter and resolve their problems.
