Rs8 million recovered from 3 contractors in Torghar: official

MANSEHRA: The Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) in Torghar district recovered Rs8 million from three contractors who had used substandard material in construction of Oghi-Shungli Bandi road.
Shahjehan Khan, the circle in-charge of ACE Torghar, told reporters that an inquiry was launched after local people appealed to ACE director Ziaullah Toru, complaining that funds meant for construction of Oghi-Shungli Bandi road had been embezzled.
He said that a technical team arrived from Peshawar and inspected the road and later it was proven that Rs8.2 million had been embezzled by the three contractors.
The official said a first information report (FIR) was lodged against the accused and the money was later recovered from them.
