ISLAMABAD: The sub-committee of the Parliamentary Committee on Electoral Reforms Tuesday termed the electronic voting and bio-metric system feasible on technical basis but decided to review the financial impact of the electronic voting and bio-metric system for casting the votes.
The approval came in a meeting of the sub-committee held under the chair of Zahid Hamid. It was informed to the committee that price of machine for electronic voting is $500 and there would be need of around 300,000 machines for the electronic voting and bio-metric system. It also asked the Nadra chairman to present a technical solution to keep the data secure and identity of voters secret while using the electronic voting method.
