HARIPUR: Four family members of a hospitalised corona suspect from a remote village of Sera-e-Niamat Khan Union Council were isolated and shifted to the quarantine centre, an official said on Sunday.
Deputy Commissioner, Haripur, Nadeem Nasir told reporters said that a retired soldier from village Ainpur was hospitalised in CHM Abbottabad on his own when, according to his family, he started feeling symptoms of covid-19 two days back. The CMH’s administration, according to DC, collected his throat swab and sent to NIH while the suspect was still hospitalised.
He said that upon receiving the information of retired army personnel, he sent the Rapid Response Team of Haripur health department to his home who collected throat swab of his wife and three male members of his family and sent them to NIH for analysis.
The four family members of corona suspect’s were shifted to the quarantine centre established in a private plaza on GT Road on Saturday night under police security. Updating the media about the number of cases, the DC said that out of total 71 suspects, 38 have been tested negative from NIH and only four were positive who all were home quarantined.
He said owing to non-serious attitude of general public pertaining to social distancing, the increase in the number of positive cases in the district could not be ruled out despite partial lockdown.
