Man shot dead in front of sister for resisting mugging bid

A man was gunned down in front of his sister when he resisted a mugging bid at Soldier Bazaar Market on Friday. According to the Soldier Bazaar police, the tragic incident took place when four armed men riding two motorcycles intercepted a 27-year-old man, identified as Inam, son of Ismail, who came out of a money exchange office. The siblings have had cash which they had exchanged from the money exchange office.

The police said the robbers attempted to snatch Inam’s sister’s purse after which the man resisted their mugging bid. Subsequently, the robber shot at Inam and fled the scene, the police added.

The injured man, who sustained a bullet injury in the head, was taken to the Civil Hospital Karachi where he passed away during treatment. The police said the deceased was living in Vietnam where he was a schoolteacher. A case has been registered and an investigation is underway.

Woman killed

A man allegedly strangled his wife to death at their house in Macchar Colony area. According to the Docks police, they found the body of the woman from their house and moved it to the Civil Hospital Karachi for medico-legal formalities. The woman has been identified as 35-year-old Anila, wife of Badshah.

According to SHO Naseer Tanoli, the woman’s husband is the prime suspect who has gone into hiding following the murder. He said Anila was Badshah’s second wife and they have had a minor son. The suspect has had three children from his first wife, he added.

The police have registered a case against the suspect and initiated an investigation.

Four men stabbed

In two separate incidents of stabbing, four men were injured in two different areas. The first incident happened in Gulshan-e-Noor in Surjani area where unidentified people stabbed two persons with knife.

According to the Surjani Town police, unknown persons stabbed two people with knives and escaped.

The injured persons were taken to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for medical treatment where they were identified as 25-year-old Faizan, son of Siddiq, and 26-year-old Farhad, son of Farooq.

The police said the motive behind the attack was yet to be ascertained. A case has been registered and an investigation is under way.

In the second incident, two brothers were stabbed in the Sukkan police remits. According to police, the incident took place after the bothers riding a motorbike have had a fight with a motorcyclist over an accident.

Police said the unknown person stabbed both the bothers with a knife during the fight. The injured brothers were identified as Hassan, 18, and Usman, 16. They were taken to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre.
