The large amount of deforestation in the country has led to permanent damage to the environment. Deforestation also leads to soil destruction. The most drastic effect is the loss of habitat for millions or billions of species as 80-90 percent of Earth’s plants and animals live in forests.
Another dangerous impact of deforestation is increases of temperature globally. Forest soils are clammy and moist, but without shield from the sun by the tree cover they dry out rapidly. It is essential that the government here understands the harshness of the issue, and takes action for reforestation.
