Capital Development Authority (CDA) Chairman Maroof Afzal has directed the concerned formations of the Authority to take all possible preventive measure to overcome the threats of the dengue virus in the federal capital.
In light of the directives, a meeting was held here at CDA headquarters on Sunday. On this occasion, Director General Administration and senior officers of concerned formations of the Authority were present. Representative of Islamabad City administration and Rawalpindi Health Department also participated.
CDA in collaboration with other organisations would ensure a comprehensive strategy against the threats of dengue virus. The preventive measures include awareness campaign, spray at possible breeding of dengue larva and its growth.
The concerned officers of Municipal Administration, Sanitation Directorate, Environment Wing, Water Management Wing and Public Relations have been directed to ensure proper sanitation system, removal of shrubs and wild bushes and repair/maintenance of sewerage and water supply lines in the city as well as carrying out awareness campaign.
The meeting decided that CDA would remain alert against the dengue virus as the deadly virus remains active in specific seasons.
