Two cops killed in encounter in Rahim Yar Khan

BAHAWALPUR: Two police personnel were shot dead during an encounter with the gangsters at Gudd Pur, Rahimyar Khan on Tuesday. A police team led by sub-inspector Arshad Chattha reached across the river to recover the five-year-old daughter of petitioner Nasarullah Jorani on court’s direction.
When the police team were rowing back after recovering the girl, some unknown culprits opened fire on them, killing sub-inspector Arshad Chattah and cop M Sadiq and injured petitioner Nasarullah Jorani. They escaped into the jungle. The area has been sealed to search for the culprits. Zahir Peer Police registered an FIR against 12 culprits.
