RMS holds seminar on IB middle years programme for parents

The Roots Millennium School (RMS) One World Campus in Sector E-11/4 is a candidate academic institution for the International Baccalaureate (IB) Middle Years Programme, says a press release.
The school is pursuing authorisation as an IB World School. Such schools share a common philosophy — a commitment to high quality and challenging international education.
An orientation seminar was organised at the RMS One World Campus to apprise parents of the future of International Baccalaureate Qualifications at the RMS and to introduce IB Middle Years Programme (MYP). The IB Middle Years Programme (MYP) spans grades 6 through 10 and is a framework which addresses a wide range of learning styles, involves students in their own unique learning processes and gives students an internationally accepted foundation of knowledge.
The MYP is a challenging framework that encourages students to make practical connections between their studies and the real world. The MYP is a five-year programme, which can be implemented in partnership between schools, or in several abbreviated (two, three or four year) formats. Students who complete the MYP are well-prepared to undertake the IB Diploma Programme (DP) or Career-related Programme (CP).
The RMS team officials, comprising Director Schools and Outreach Ms. Sabina Zakir, Senior Manager International Qualifications (IB MYP Coordinator) Ms. Azra Tahir and Principal RMS One World Campus Ms. Fizza Mushtaq shared their views about the efforts undertaken in maintaining the standards and quality of teaching and learning and challenges faced during the IB authorisation process. At this juncture, the parents had shown high level of satisfaction and confidence on the campus management and MYP teaching faculty for implementing improved techniques of conceptual and contextual learning methodologies, approaches to learning and improved assessment practices.
On the occasion, Roots Millennium Schools Chief Executive Chaudhry Faisal Mushtaq, TI, shared the vision and scope of IB qualifications at the RMS. He appreciated the support and trust of parents to help scaling the new qualifications more effectively and productively.
