After the refusal
April 21, 2018
Three students in Gujrat were attacked with acid after they refused a marriage proposal. In our country, acid attacks are rising at an unprecedented pace. Mostly women are victims of this heinous crime. However, it is pitiful that there is no justice for a majority of victims.
The government must take strict action against those criminals who are responsible for these crimes. The authorities should also ensure harsh punishments and put restrictions on sale of such chemicals that are used to carry out these crimes. There is nothing more important than a person’s life. Such crimes should be dealt with in a manner that justice is served immediately and the mildest penalty should be life imprisonment without pay role.
