Big win for Railway Whites

LAHORE: Railway Whites outplayed Ahmad Glass by 242 Runs in the Railways Inter- Departmental Cricket Championship here at the Railway Stadium.

Railway Whites, batting first, were 305 all out after 73.3 overs. Ali Zaryab Asif 52, Asif Ashfaq 49, Fahad-ul-Haq 39, Arslan Sajid 30, Muhammad Umair 26, Zubair Khan 22 and Ameer Hamza made 20. Salman Ahmad 3/85, Abdullah Nawaz 2/42, Aftab Azwar 2/53 and Mir Wise Khan 2/90 were the wicket-takers for Ahmad Glass. In reply Ahmad Glass 213 all out after 59.2 overs. Muhammad Saleem 82, Aziz Nasir 39 and Mir Waiz Khan 20 were the ruin-getters. Manzoor Khan 4/41, Qaiser Ashraf 3/40 and Muhammad Umair 2/51 were among the wickers.

Thus Railway Whites got first innings lead 92 Runs. Railway Whites in their second innings declared at 270/4 after 50 overs. Zubair Khan hit 103 not out. Ameer Hamza 73 not out, Hassan Mahfooz 37 and Ali Zaryab Asif 25 were the other notable scorers.

Salman Ahmad got 2/69. Railway Whites target 363 Runs. In reply Ahmad Glass, chasing a target of 363, were 132 all out in second innings. Muhammad Saleem 39, Mir Waiz Khan 32 and Muhammad Usman 20 were the main run-getters. Asif Ashfaq bowled well to grab 6/32 and Muhammad Umair 2/38.
