LAHORE: Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif while addressing a large public gathering on Tuesday in Layyah termed PPP Co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari the kingpin of corruption and PTI chief Imran Khan a pathological liar. The chief minister said Imran lies day in and day out. When dengue fever spread in Peshawar, he escaped to the mountains of Nathiagali instead of helping the people there and when it attacked Lahore, he ridiculed us and taunted us as ‘dengue brothers.’

When dengue attacked Peshawar, we sent medical teams, mobile hospital and best medicines there. Niazi sahib is used to telling lies and he also lied about sowing one billion trees in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. “I ask you that the person who speaks lies all the time have the right of your votes”? This leader said he will end loadshedding in KP and will also generate electricity for the whole of Pakistan, but he is unable to generate even a kilowatt of electricity after the passage of four and a half years.

Khan Sahib termed Lahore metro bus service ‘Jangla Bus’ and said he will not run metro bus service in Peshawar and the funds will be rather utilised for the institutions of health and education but this man has failed to develop any hospital, educational institutions or metro bus there. After the passage of four and a half years, he has realised to run metro bus in Peshawar but is unable to even start the project.

On the other hand, the chief minister said Zardari Sahib claimed that he has come to take stock of the corruption of Sharif family. It is a big joke that a person who is totally drenched in corruption is saying that he has come to take stock of corruption. If it is not doomsday, then what should we call it? Zardari and his team did nothing except corruption in Sindh.

Funds to the tune of billions of rupees have been given during the last 25 years to Larkana which is called the bastion of Bhutto family but not a single penny was spent there. He said the PML-N has selflessly served the people and it is all possible that something is missing in serving the people but we have spent every penny for the welfare of the people as custodians of resources.

If you elect us again then the mobile hospitals which have been given to Layyah district will also be provided to Chowk Azam, tehsil Layyah and Chobara to provide best healthcare facilities at the doorsteps.

The chief minister inaugurated development projects and laid the foundation-stones of quite a number of new schemes costing billions of rupees. He also announced setting up of university and a technical college in Layyah besides making an announcement of special fund of Rs300 million each to make Layyah, Chobara and Chowk Azam as model cities. The CM launched National Health Card Programme with four mobile health units project for Layyah.

Addressing a big public gathering at Milad Chowk Layyah, the chief minister said latest CT scan machine has been installed at DHQ hospital Layyah for providing round-the-clock facility. Similarly, mobile hospitals have been provided for latest treatment and diagnostic facilities to the people at their doorsteps. Now people will not have to go to other cities for treatment or CT scan as these facilities are available in district’s hospital.

Meanwhile, high standard roads have been constructed in rural areas during the last five years and asphalt roads have been constructed in Layyah worth Rs5 billion. While talking about the complaints of sugarcane farmers in Layyah, the CM said sugar mills should not do injustice with the farmers and warned if they did not mend their ways, then mill owners will be sent to jails. The managers of sugar mills involved in injustice to the farmers are already behind bars and this includes a mill of my relative, as well, he added.

“I do not care for my relatives as I only care for the poor farmers and I shall go to any extent to give rights to the small and poor farmers,” he added. He said they started metro buses in Multan and Speedo buses are running in Lodhran. If Allah Almighty accorded an opportunity of public service again then Speedo buses will also run in Layyah.
