ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Ulema Council (PUC) Chairman Hafiz Muhammad Tahir Mehmood Ashrafi said on Monday that it is not necessarily customary for any Muslim to give evidence of his belief on "Oneness of God and Finality of Prophethood SAW and love for the Companions of the Holy Prophet (SAW) to any religious organisation or individual to prove his faith."
Talking to visiting delegates of different religious sects here on Monday, Hafiz Tahir Ashrafi underlined that it is not rightful act on part of some religious sect to label fellow Muslims as infidels and question their faith and belief in oneness of Allah Almighty and his Prophet Muhammad (SAW) being last prophet. “It is not customary for Muslims to prove that he is a Muslim,” he said.
Hafiz Tahir Ashrafi said that a pre-planned conspiracy has been hatched in the country by making amendments to Finality of Prophethood (SAW) text in the oath taking document of electoral reforms bill. “On account of this issue, some elements were aimed at creating chaos in the country but political and religious leadership foiled targets of the conspirators.” He added that teachings of the Quran and Sunnah have categorically defined in detail all the anomalies in belief in oneness of God, finality of Prophethood (SAW) and respect for the Companions of Prophet Muhammad (SAW).
He said according to Code of Conduct of Pakistan Ulema Council that has been endorsed by all the religious organisations and religious sects, only those are entitled to religious decree who fulfills all the requirements of 'Aftha' and owned required education of Islamic jurisprudence.
He said the government has been authorised to take action against all those in accordance with National Action Plan who give religious decrees unlawfully.
He said all the esteemed religious seminaries and prestigious Masajid from all over Pakistan did not issue infidelity decree against any organisation or Muslim individual. “No one has declared Zahid Hamid and Rana Sanaullah as Ahmedi and Zahid Hamid has voluntarily issued his declaration of faith without demand raised by any of the Ulema and clerics,” he said.
Meanwhile noted Ulema and scholars have already given their stance after explanation and apology of Rana Sanaullah.
Amidst this scenario, Pakistan Ulema Council has appealed to all the leadership of religious and political organisations not to link Finality of Prophethood (SAW) issue with political objectives and self-interest. Religious leadership should stay away from making infidelity and Islamic teachings an issue in Pakistan. Serious Shariah issues should be settled with seriousness and wisdom.
