World shows interest in CPEC: Shahbaz

Says Pak-China ties transforming into productive monetary participation

LAHORE

Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has decided in a meeting to establish a joint working group of Punjab government and a Chinese company to prepare final recommendations for promotion of cooperation. 

A Chinese delegation led by Guan Jianzhong, Chairman of the Dagong Company, called on the CM on Thursday. Consul General of China Long Ding Bin, Minister of Finance Dr Ayesha Ghaus Pasha, chairman Planning & Development, secretaries of the departments concerned and senior officials were present. 

Consensus was made in the meeting to upgrade collaboration between the Chinese company and the government. While conversing on the occasion, Shahbaz Sharif said Pak-China relationship is transforming into productive monetary participation and CPEC has supported up their relationship as it is accepting basic part in strengthening Pakistan financially and boosting up neighbourly relations between the two countries which is the reason that rest of the world is likewise exposing enthusiasm for CPEC. He said billions of dollars has been invested in different sectors of Punjab including education, health, transportation, communication & construction and many others which has enhanced framework of these sectors. He welcomed the decision of Chinese company to cooperate in infrastructure financing and said they will take full preferred standpoint from the expertise of Chinese organisation. CM assured that interest in social area will be expanded in future additionally participation will be stretched out to devise new arrangement of Management Credit Rating.

It was decided in the meeting to establish a joint working group of the government and the Chinese company who will prepare final recommendations for promotion of cooperation. Speaking on the occasion, Chairman Chinese company said they will promote collaboration by keeping close ties with the government. 

Meanwhile, the chief minister vowed to boost cooperation with China city Tianjin in the fields of textile, garments and skill development and a delegation of Punjab government will visit there soon. 

A delegation from leading industrial city Tianjin called on the CM on Thursday. The meeting discussed ideas related to enhancement of cooperation in skill development, textile, garments and other industrial sectors between Punjab and Tianjin. Talking to the delegation, Shahbaz Sharif said Pakistan-China relations since CPEC are touching new statures. China has attained rapid development under the vibrant leadership and has now become role model for rest by becoming the world's second economic power. He said CPEC has produced tremendous opportunities of investment in Pakistan.  Vice President Tianjin People’s Association for Friendship with foreign countries, Chen Weiming, who was leading the delegation, on the occasion said all possible assistance will be provided to the government. 

Malala: Shahbaz Sharif has said that the Nobel Prize-winning Pakistani girl Malala Yousafzai is an asset of Pakistan and it is undoubtedly a privilege for her to get honorary citizenship of Canada as well as the opportunity to address Canadian Parliament. He said Malala Yousafzai at an extremely youthful age has won distinctive global honours and has brought magnificence to Pakistan. The struggle of Malala for promotion of education and peace is praiseworthy as she is a brave daughter of Pakistan of whom each Pakistani is proud of, he added.

consul general: Consul General of China Long Ding Bin has said Shahbaz Sharif’s pace of executing projects is astounding and he has speeded up the projects of CPEC. 

He said the credit of high standard and speed of CPEC projects in Punjab unquestionably goes to Shahbaz Sharif. He expressed these views while meeting with Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif on Thursday. While conversing with the CM, Chinese consul general said that his diligent work and speedy execution of projects is being acknowledged in China as well and his considerable role in successful execution of projects of CPEC in Punjab is estimable. He said he himself visited Metro Bus and Orange Line Metro Train project and was quiet impressed as well as pleased with the standard of work carried out there.
