Inaugurates school enrolment campaign

Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has pledged that he will complete the target of bringing each offspring of Punjab into school before election to ensure that none of the youngsters is denied education.
He shared these thoughts while addressing a function held at Aiwan-e-Iqbal regarding school enrolment campaign 2017. The chief minister formally inaugurated this crusade by entering names of two children in tablets and gave the youngsters books and school bags.
Speaking on the occasion, the chief minister said the campaign is being launched every year and today we are gathered here for this purpose as this ceremony is linked with 36 others districts of province through a video link. He said that assembly members, newly-elected leadership of districts, officials concerned of education department and students are asserting to make this campaign fruitful ensuring that none of the children of Punjab is left out of school. He said that success of this campaign mainly lies in role of teacher which is the essential element of this procedure so all the teachers are requested to step forward for achieving this target.
He said the only road leading to prosperity and development is education which creates vision, quality and cognizance in country. The Punjab government has started different progressive strides for advancement of instruction as well as formulated viable strategy to acquire the kids school. He said that 80,000 teachers are being recruited this year as well among whom 50 percent are female.
He recalled that an orphan girl student of Bhakkar was tried to deprive of her right and was ignored despite falling at merit criteria; so I immediately took notice of the incident and taking action against the staff concerned suspended them. He said we have ended up the cheating culture from examination system but a dictator who had yelled Pakistan First slogan has acted against it and wrapped up democracy in 1999 which had brought cheating culture back in exams; however, we have mended it again.
He said it is very sad that children in some schools are forced to do the chores of gardener and cleaner; nevertheless, we will not tolerate any such atrocity.
