Healthcare in Sibbi

By our correspondents
February 25, 2017

Health is the first and foremost basic right of every citizen of the country. Unfortunately, in district Sibbi the health sector is in its worst condition. There is only a single so-called divisional hospital which is displaying a gloomy picture. This hospital lacks the operation equipment, essential medicines, and specialised doctors and staff. They are only few beds which are in pathetic condition, ambulances are out of order and statures which are broken and are out of use. The ICU room is like a haunted house. Because of the scarcity of beds in the hospital, patients from far flung areas are compelled to sleep on the dirty floor. This poses dangerous health risks. The few medicines which are issued from the government are sold at high prices to the patients. The hospital’s staff is not punctual and reached late on duty which further aggravates the situation.

The hospital’s building is presenting a picture of ruins with only limited rooms. In our country, the poor gets nothing other than problems. The provincial health department should take stern action against the slackness and negligence.
