The Rangers have claimed of arresting five members of the Lyari gang war during their targeted action in different parts of the city on Wednesday.
The spokesman for Rangers said that the troops conducted a series of targeted raids on the hideouts of elements of gang war in different parts of Lyari and arrested five alleged notorious gangsters recovering weapons and Awan grenades from their custody.
The gangsters were wanted by the police in number of crimes, including killings.
Illegal hydrants
The spokesman said the Rangers would undertake grand action against illegal hydrants from 20th January to address the sufferings of people affected with shortage of water.
He said there were numerous illegal hydrants operating in the city resulting in shortage of water.
The spokesman also claimed that the some of the owners of the illegal hydrants were directly and indirectly engaged in financial support of criminals, terrorists and banned organisations.
