ToRs prepared for deployment of SSD for CPEC security
ISLAMABAD: The Terms of References (ToRs) have finally been prepared in coordination with all the federating units for deployment of the Special Security Division (SSD) for the security of China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), the sources told The News here on Wednesday.
Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal Wednesday confirmed to The News that ToRs for deployment of SDD on the routes of CPEC had been prepared and announced next week.
“There has been a lot of discussion on ToRs and all the stakeholders gave their views and input after which they developed consensus over this issue. The security of the local and foreign workers serving in the CPEC projects is an important issue that is why the issue of ToRs has been amicably resolved to the satisfaction of all the stakeholders,” he said.The minister said they had held a meeting this week to sort out the modalities of ToRs and now formal process would be followed to get final approval in this respect.
