Two killed for honour in Mansehra
MANSEHRA: A man and a woman were killed in two separate honour-related incidents in the city, the police said on Saturday.
They said a man killed his wife with the help of his father and two brothers and threw her body in the forest in Barda.
The police arrested all four suspects, her husband Waqar Shah, father Shamshad Shah and two brothers Bilal Shah and Yasir Shah.
“The accused threw her body in the jungle and pretended that she is still at her father’s residence,” Amir Khan, the station house officer of Saddar Police Station, told reporters. He said that the mutilated body of the woman was taken to King Abdullah Teaching Hospital and handed over to her family after an autopsy.
According to a first information report (FIR) lodged with the police by the victim’s father Sabir Shah, the woman had gone to her father’s home after developing differences with her in-laws.
However, she returned to husband’s house on persuasion by their in-laws on September 12 but the in-laws allegedly killed her.
The hospital sources said the body was beyond recognition as the killers had poured acid over it to keep their crime secret. In another incident, a man was also killed in the name of honour and his body thrown in a jungle.
According to the police, Asfandyar, Junaid, Saifullah and Malik Said suspected illicit relations of a girl of their family with one Jabar Khan.
“The accused asked Jabar Khan to come to meet them in a nearby forest in Ghazikot. They killed him and dumped the body in the forest,” Mohammad Saeed, the SHO of City Police Station, told reporters.
He said that all suspects had been arrested and they confessed to have committed the crime.
