Training programme for motorcyclists

Sixty-two accidents out of 137 accidents occurred due to direct or indirect involvement of motorcyclists on national highway in N-5 Central during the year 2015-2016.

This was said by DIG Central Zone while reviewing the special training programme for motorcyclists in N-5 Central Zone.

He said that N-5 Central Zone had evolved a comprehensive training strategy for motorcycle riders travelling on highways. Theoretical and practical training was provided to motorcyclists by NH&MP officers (master trainers) on temporary driving track adjacent to beat camps.

Training manual handbook for motorcyclists with briefing material designed by Central Zone were distributed to participants as part of road safety, and at the end of training session at times refreshment was provided to participants, he added.

wardens: Chief Traffic Officer Lahore announced cash prizes and commendation certificates for traffic wardens who caught a robber and handed over him to Township police.

In charge Traffic Sector, Township Zahid Mukhtar and driver Zulfiqar caught a robber who was on his way back after snatching a purse from a student in the Township area.

Meanwhile, Traffic Education Team set up traffic awareness camp at Liberty Chowk to discourage wheelie-doing. The police also distributed pamphlets among the citizens in this regard.

Cops: SP Mujahid Squad Syed Qarar Hussain has sought details of all weapons being used by police officials deployed on VIP and VVIP duties.

According to a press release issued here Wednesday, SP also directed all the relevant officials to maintain weaponry clean and in good condition to make their use in a better way at the time of need.

He also warned of taking stern actions against those officials whose weapon found to be in bad condition.
