Civic body employees protest non-payment of salaries
DERA ISMAIL KAHN: The civic body employees on Monday protested the non-payment of salaries and demanded immediate release of the wages.
The employees of the Tehsil Municipal Committee (TMA) Paharpur tehsil took out the protest rally from the office of the civic body to the old bus stand. They were carrying banners and placards inscribed with slogans against the non-release of salaries.
Member Provincial Assembly Ehtesham Javed, member district council Badar Munir, Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl leaders Maulana Abdul Jabbar and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf chief organiser tehsil Paharpur Niamatullah Khan Niazi participated in the protest rally to show solidarity with the employees.
The speakers said that the salaries and pensions of the employees could be released for the month of July as the budget for the Paharpur could not be approved. They said that the employees and pensioners and their families were facing hardships due no-payment of the salaries. The protest demanded the Tehsil Council to approve the budget so their salaries could be released.
