ISLAMABAD: The PCB on Friday appointed Test captain Shan Masood as Consultant International Cricket and Players’ Affairs.

Earlier, during a dinner reception at the Prime Minister’s House on Friday evening, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chief Mohsin Naqvi had announced his appointment as director international cricket.Interestingly, the PCB has advertised the post with November 2 set as a deadline for aspirants to apply.

The PCB Constitution also has a clause that bars an active cricketer from taking over the job. It is now likely that Shan will announce his retirement from international cricket before taking over the new role in the PCB.

Shan has represented akistan in 44 Test matches, batting in 84 innings, scoring 2,550 runs with 6 centuries and 13 half-centuries. The 36-year-old Shan started his international cricket career in 2013, and played his last Test match against South Africa that concluded on Thursday.
