Four officials recovered shortly after being kidnapped
DERA ISMAIL KHAN: Four officials from the Education Department, including the District Education Officer (DEO) Tank, were abducted by unidentified armed men near Hathala area in Tehsil Kulachi on the busy Dera-Tank Road, officials confirmed on Tuesday. However, all the abductees were later rescued in a swift security operation.
It was learnt that DEO Tank Sher Muhammad Wazir, Deputy DEO, Accountant Qudratullah, and another official Farooq were traveling in an official vehicle from Dera Ismail Khan to Tank when they were intercepted and taken away by armed men in the jurisdiction of Hathala Police Station.
Soon after receiving the report of the abduction, security forces and local police launched an immediate and coordinated operation. Their timely response led to the successful and safe recovery of all four officials.Authorities were investigating the incident, while security was tightened along the Dera-Tank Road, particularly in sensitive areas of Tehsil Kulachi.
