CM’s aide pays tribute to late Jawad Khan
PESHAWAR: Adviser to Chief Minister on Health Ihtisham Ali on Tuesday attended a ceremony at the Institute of Kidney Diseases to pay a tribute to late Jawad Khan, a young boy who saved five lives through organ donation.
The Transplant Unit at Institute of Kidney Diseases was officially named after Shaheed Jawad Khan.The parents of Jawad Khan, a 9th-grade student also attended the ceremony.
Ihtisham Ali embraced Jawad’s father, expressing his gratitude, and presented him with an honourary shield on behalf of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government. He also awarded commendation certificates to the organ transplant team.
Speaking at the event, Ihtisham Ali stated, “This is the first time in the history of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa that someone so young has donated their organs. The late Jawad Khan, hailing from Rustam, not only saved five lives by donating his organs but also set a commendable example for our society.”
He added, “We are in dire need of individuals like Jawad who, even as they depart, leave behind something for humanity. The late Jawad has become immortal by donating his organs. The Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and the Health Department will always remember this immense favour from Jawad and his parents.”
The adviser on health expressed hope that the legacy of organ donation initiated by the late Jawad would continue. He remarked, “The late Jawad has given the public an opportunity to donate their organs for the survival of humanity.”
