Hanging bodies of two women recovered
LAHORE:Police Tuesday recovered bodies of two women hanging from ceiling fans from different localities. Hanjarwal police found body of 'A', 28, the mother of two children, hanging from a ceiling fan at her house.
According to the police, she was allegedly subjected to torture by her in-laws before her death. Evidence collected from the scene and preliminary investigations indicate that she might have been strangled and her body was hanged to give the name of the murder as suicide.
The police have arrested one suspect.
Meanwhile, body of another woman was found hanging from a ceiling fan in the Township area. 'S', mother of two, got married four years back. According to police, initial signs suggest the woman might have committed suicide.
Man shot dead over land dispute
A 25-year-old man was shot dead in the Heir area on Tuesday in what police say was a targeted attack linked to a land dispute.
According to police, the victim, identified as Mustafa Khan, was working as a security guard when he was attacked by assailants riding a motorcycle. The attackers opened fire and fatally wounded Mustafa before fleeing the scene.
Police shifted body to morgue via Edhi Ambulance. Initial findings suggest that both the victim and the suspects, identified as Alif Khan and Ismail Khan, are residents of Peshawar and had an ongoing land dispute in Peshawar village. Police believe this dispute may have been the motive behind the killing.
Seven wounded over minor dispute
Seven people sustained bullet injuries when a minor dispute turned violent in the Mohlanwal area of Sundar on Tuesday.
According to police, three people exchanged harsh words over an issue of standing in a street. Later on, M Boota, Abdul Rauf and their accomplices opened indiscriminate fire. As a result, M Shahid, Shoaib, Hanif, Rashid, Naveed, M Umar, and Naseer sustained gunshot injuries. They were rushed to hospital.
Sundar police registered case and arrested M Boota.
Meanwhile, a man and his son sustained wounds in a firing incident that occurred over a transaction dispute in the Basti Ahmedabad area of Manga Mandi. According to police, Malik Iqbal opened fire and wounded Pervez Masih and his son Shamoon. The injured were rushed to hospital. Police arrested the accused.
Body recovered from canal
Body of an unidentified woman was recovered from a canal near the Gulzar Underpass in the Muslim Town area on Tuesday.
According to the Edhi Foundation spokesperson, passers-by spotted the body floating in the canal and immediately alerted the authorities. Police, along with a team of divers recovered the body with the assistance of Edhi volunteers and shifted to hospital. Police officials stated that the identity of the woman has not yet been established.
Murder suspect held
The Crime Control Department (CCD) Tuesday arrested a murder suspect, who had been absconding since last four years. The CCD team detained Mohsin Ali, who had killed Ghulam Naseer in 2021.
