Sharjeel for filing defamation cases globally against Indian media organisations

A special ceremony was held in Karachi on Thursday under the auspices of the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FPCCI) to celebrate the success of the Pakistan's military operation Bunyan-um-Marsoos.

The event was graced by Sindh Senior Minister for Information and Transport Sharjeel Inam Memon as the chief guest. He was received by FPCCI Vice President Saqib Fayyaz Maggoon, Senator Sarmad Ali, senior journalists Faisal Zahid Malik and Shahab Zuberi, and other guests.

In his address, the Sindh senior minister thanked God Almighy for the victory of Pakistan. He said May 10 would always remain a memorable day for him. He emphasised that Pakistan’s armed forces and political leadership united to deal a historic defeat to the enemy, and this victory belonged to the collective struggle of 250 million countrymen.

He stated that Pakistan Peoples Party founder Zulfikar Ali Bhutto laid the foundation of Pakistan's nuclear programme, and his daughter Benazir Bhutto made the country’s defense invincible by introducing the missile technology.

Memon remarked that today, travelling abroad on a Pakistani passport was a matter of pride for him. Criticising the Indian media, he said that it was only spreading lies and that defamation cases should be filed globally against such organisations.

He praised the Pakistani media for broadcasting verified news during the recent conflict and said that our fighter pilots made the enemy taste bitter defeat. Addressing the ceremony, Senator Ali said that by the grace of God, Pakistan achieved success on every front, and under the leadership of Field Marshal Gen Asim Munir, the enemy was defeated.

He also commended the Pakistani media for acting responsibly and praised PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari for effectively projecting Pakistan’s stance on the international stage. The participants of the meeting paid glowing tribute to the country’s armed forces, saying that the operation delivered a strong and decisive response to the enemy.

"We thank Allah that the Pakistan Army upheld the nation’s honour and proved that Pakistan is a formidable defensive power," said Maggoon. Malik paid a heartfelt tribute to Field Marshal Gen Asim Munir, stating that he united the nation that was divided a few months ago.

Other participants of the ceremony also paid tribute to Bilawal, Field Marshal Munir and the martyrs of the nation, stating that Pakistan not only won the war but also asserted its dominance on diplomatic, political and media fronts.
