Governor accuses CM of indulging in dirty politics
PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi on Tuesday flayed Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur for his statement about weapons and said it amounted to open rebellion and was a clear violation of the Constitution and the law.
“Ali Amin Gandapur’s rhetoric goes against national unity and constitutional principles, and is unacceptable, said the governor in a statement.Kundi said that the statements made against the state institutions were punishable by law and should be dealt with through immediate legal action.
“A person who speaks against the state is not fit to represent the public, said the governor while referring to the chief minister.“It is unfortunate that campaigns on social media targeting the victories of the Pakistan Army are being backed by the Chief Minister’s House,” Kundi alleged.
The governor accused the chief minister of indulging in dirty politics for personal political gain, even on a sensitive national issue like the repatriation of Afghan refugees.“Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is currently in the grip of ‘Ali Baba and 40 thieves where corruption is at its peak, said the governor.
He lamented that there was no inquiry into the Rs 40 billion scandal in Kohistan. “Solar projects have become hubs of corruption, yet the government remains a silent spectator, said the governor.
Kundi alleged that Grade-4 jobs were being sold, and teachers’ recruitment tests were being conducted at ministers’ residences.“The baton charge and shelling on peaceful protesters is the worst example of fascism, said the governor while referring to the use of force against the PPP workers the previous day. “The attack on protestors reflects the government’s panic and failure”, said Kundi. The governor said such this government had lost constitutional and public legitimacy and had no justification to remain in power.
