Robbers kill night watchman, loot two shops

LAHORE:A horrific robbery in Naulakha turned deadly when unidentified assailants killed a night watchman before looting two shops.

According to police officials, the attackers first subdued 45-year-old watchman Laal Khan, a native of Mansehra, by tying him to a charpoy before slitting his throat with a sharp weapon. After committing the murder, the thieves broke into two auto parts shops and escaped with spare parts estimated to be worth around 2.5 million rupees. Authorities were alerted by nearby residents who discovered the grisly scene the next morning.

Police forensic teams immediately cordoned off the area, collecting evidence. Investigators are reviewing CCTV footage from nearby cameras and have registered a case. The victim's family, including his widow and three children in Mansehra, are devastated by the loss of their sole breadwinner.

Two members of cattle theft gang arrested

Lahore Investigation Police have arrested two key members of a notorious cattle theft gang and recovered stolen livestock and valuables worth millions of rupees. A police team led by Husnain Saleem, In-charge Investigation, Haeir Police Station, conducted a raid and apprehended the gang leader along with his accomplice. According to SP Investigation Cantt Bushra Nisar, the recovered items include five stolen buffaloes worth Rs3.9 million, mobile phones, Rs300,000 in cash, and illegal weapons. She said the gang was involved in multiple theft incidents, targeting livestock and valuable goods under the cover of darkness.

Man killed in crane accident

A 26-year-old man was killed in a tragic accident in Shalimar when a crane struck him while he was crossing the road. According to police and Edhi officials, the victim, identified as Awais, died on the spot after being hit by the crane on Shalimar Road.

The crane driver, however, fled the scene immediately after the collision. Upon receiving the alert, police and Edhi volunteers arrived, transporting the victim's body to the morgue for legal formalities.
