Sindh Home Minister Ziaul Hassan Lanjar on Wednesday chaired a review meeting on the ongoing affairs of the Safe City Project. DG Safe City Asif Ijaz Sheikh gave a briefing on this project, including various references. The meeting was informed about the building and other infrastructure under the Safe City Project.
Lanjar directed that in the initial phase of the project, Airport, Clifton and Sharea Faisal, which are included in the Red Zone, should be completed as soon as possible. He said he wanted the fruits of the project to be transferred to the citizens, and the completion of the project would further strengthen security measures and police action against crime.
He added that the project would prove to be an effective weapon of the police against street crime, highway robbers, terrorists and anti-social elements. The Safe City project would prove to be an important tool in rooting out crime and eliminating criminals.
The meeting was attended by Home Secretary Iqbal Memon, the NRTC project director and other representatives. Meanwhile, Lanjar, appreciating the safe recovery of 12 people who were kidnapped from Sukkur and Khairpur areas last night within 6 hours and the timely response of the police in this context, has congratulated the teams of the DIG Sukkur, SSPs Sukkur and Khairpur for their excellent performance and courageous action in the ongoing operation against crimes and robbers in the Kutcha area of Sukkur and has termed the overall strategy and action plan worthy of praise.
