PSL X returns to Pindi again amid border tensions
RAWALPINDI: Despite early morning clashes at the Pakistan-India border on Wednesday, the Pakistan Super League (PSL) Season X continued undeterred -- and with full international backing. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) swiftly allayed any concerns, confirming that PSL matches will go ahead as scheduled at the Pindi Stadium.
All the foreign players from both franchises have been cleared fit and have reaffirmed their commitment to participate in the remaining matches of Pakistan Super League (PSL) Season X as the league enters its decisive stages.
This match marks the grand return of PSL X to Rawalpindi, igniting a cricketing frenzy in the city. And the excitement doesn’t end here. Rawalpindi is set to host four additional blockbuster matches: Group Matches 8, 9, and 10, as well as the first Playoff. The final group-stage fixture will shift to Multan on May 11.
The knockout phase promises fireworks: Qualifier: Rawalpindi – May 13; Eliminator 1 & 2: Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore – May 14 & 16; Grand Finale: Gaddafi Stadium – May 18.
Islamabad United’s camp has confirmed that every player -- domestic and overseas -- is available for selection, with only a few sidelined due to minor injuries or illness. The squad is locked in and laser-focused as the tournament enters its high-pressure climax.
Outside the Pindi Stadium, scenes of passion and patriotism unfolded as cricket-hungry crowds -- mostly youth -- surged to catch a glimpse of their heroes. Among them, Asif Suleman, a fervent fan, shared the electrifying mood: “We’re here not just for cricket, but to celebrate the swift and decisive response of the Pakistan Air Force, who shot down five enemy jets in record time. Watching United vs Gladiators in this charged atmosphere -- it’s a moment of national pride.”
With the tournament heating up and the stakes climbing higher, PSL X is proving once again that cricket in Pakistan is more than just a game -- it’s a statement of resilience, unity, and unstoppable spirit.
