Kidnapped labourers recovered
DERA ISMAIL KHAn: Three labourers who were kidnapped while working on a road construction project a day earlier in Tank district were safely recovered through the efforts of the district administration and the Member of Provincial Assembly (MPA), officials said on Sunday.
Police officials in Tank said no formal First Information Report (FIR) had been lodged regarding the incident. However, following the abduction, MPA Usman Bhittani and Deputy Commissioner Tanveer Khattak initiated immediate negotiations with the contractor and officials from the Communication and Works (C&W) Department.
“These talks led to the safe return of the kidnapped labourers,” said an official.The incident occurred in the afternoon near the Luqman Checkpost, on the road connecting Tank city to Umar Adda, on Saturday. Authorities have credited the successful recovery to the coordinated efforts of all concerned parties.
