ISLAMABAD: The government has ultimately finalised three candidates for the slot of Member Finance in the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (Ogra) after nine months.
“We have finalised three names through a transparent process. Their names have also been cleared by the relevant agencies.” The Cabinet Division has forwarded the summary to the PM Office for the final decision, naming Salman Amin, Mohammad Naeem Ghouri and Muhammad Arif. Salman Amin is a Chartered Accountant and an ACCA-UK.
Mohammad Naeem Ghouri, Member Finance, joined Ogra on July 28, 2022 for two years. He completed his tenure in July 2024 about 9 months back, but he was given extension.
Similarly, Muhammad Arif was Member (Gas) at Ogra, whose tenure ended on November 20, 2022. Since then, no fresh member gas has been appointed, and an additional charge has been given to Member (Oil).
