Three candidates have been selected for the post of vice chancellor of the NED Engineering University and their names have been sent to intelligence agencies for clearance.
The first of these three names is that of NED University Pro Vice Chancellor Dr. Tufail Sheikh, the second is Dr. Ghaus Bakhsh Narejo and the third is Dr. Zulfiqar Ali Memon. Eight candidates were called for interview for the post of vice chancellor of the NED Engineering University. Seventeen candidates had applied, including Dr. Shahid Baqir, Dr. Ahmed Hussain, Dr. Muhammad Tufail, Dr. Engineer Abdul Qadir Bhatti, Dr. Ghaus Bakhsh Narejo, Dr. Zulfiqar Ali Memon, Dr. Syeda Soraya Bukhari, Engineer Qazi Amjad, Engineer Muhammad Shahid, Fayyaz Ahmed Qureshi, Khalid Saifullah, Abdul Wahid Aqili, Abdul Majeed Yousafani, Shahnawaz Farhan Khedro, Dr. Mushtaq Ali Jakhrani, Tufail Ahmed Sheikh and Syed Iqbal Hashmi.
The search committee was chaired by Dr. Tariq Rafi, while the members included former NED University Vice Chancellor Dr. Sarosh Hashmat Lodi, Dr. Abdul Qadeer Rajput, Secretary Universities and Boards Ghulam Abbas Baloch, Secretary HEC Moin Siddiqui, and Secretary College Education. The Sindh HEC has selected Dr. Sarosh Hashmat Lodi’s name for the post of Chairman Charter Inspection Committee and sent it to the intelligence agencies for clearance. Dr. Sarosh Lodi retired last month after serving as NED VC for 8 years.
