Derajat festival: Vibrant poetry night held in DI Khan

DERA ISMAIL KHAN: As part of the ongoing “DeraJat 2025” cultural celebrations, a grand Mehfil-e-Mushaira was held at the District Auditorium, Dera Ismail Khan.

Around 30 distinguished poets from across the region and beyond participated in the Mehfil-e-Mushaira.

The evening witnessed a strong presence of literary enthusiasts, local dignitaries and government officials. Director Operations of the Sports Department, Naimatullah Marwat, Deputy Director Jamshed Baloch, Regional Sports Officer Raziullah Bhittani, Assistant Commissioner of Dera Ismail Khan, Fasih Ishaq Abbasi, media representatives and a large number of community members attended the event.

Addressing the gathering at the conclusion of the event, Tehsil Mayor Umar Amin Khan Gandapur extended heartfelt gratitude to all participating poets, especially those who traveled from other regions.

He reaffirmed the local administration’s commitment to fully support future literary and cultural events. He commended the organising team for their exceptional efforts in making this event a memorable success and a hallmark of the Derajat festivities.
