Six women among 11 killed in Faisalabad accident

Accident occurs when a rickshaw carrying members of Rai family, returning home after Eid holidays

FAISALABAD: At least 11 people, including six women from the same family, lost their lives while six others were injured in a devastating collision between a passenger bus and a motorcycle rickshaw on Landaianwala Road in Jaranwala.

The accident occurred when a rickshaw carrying members of the Rai family, returning home after Eid holidays, was hit by an oncoming passenger bus. The bus driver fled from the scene after the crash.

Those killed on the spot or before reaching the hospital included 35-year-old Mumtaz Bibi, her daughters 14-year-old Muskan and 15-year-old Iman, two sisters 15-year-old Humaira Shehbaz and 18-year-old Amna Shehbaz, 35-year-old Shazia Saleem, 26-year-old Shehzad, and 12-year-old Faizan.

Later, three more victims succumbed to injuries, raising the death toll to 11. The injured, including 8-year-old Salman, 14-year-old Sargam Saleem, 12-year-old Amna, 14-year-old Aliza, 7-year-old Hassan, and Nauman, were rushed to Allied Hospital, where four are still under treatment. RPO Zeeshan Asghar took notice of the incident and directed the CPO to submit a detailed report and conduct a thorough investigation at the scene.
