QUETTA: In Sohbatpur, located in the Nasirabad Division, armed individuals attacked a house, firing indiscriminately and killing seven people. The victims included a husband, wife, and their five children.
The incident occurred late last night in Mir Duran Khankhoso. The assailants also set the house on fire, causing the bodies to burn and reducing all household belongings to ashes. The armed individuals managed to escape, leaving the area in chaos and instilling widespread panic and fear.
The police have set up barricades and launched a search operation to arrest the culprits. The bodies of the victims will be buried in Manji Pur.
According to the police, in the RD 228 area of Sohbatpur, the armed attackers targeted the home of local farmer Muhammad Sadiq. They indiscriminately opened fire, killing him, his wife, and five children: Asad-ur-Rehman, Saadullah, Yasir, Yameen, and Tahira. After the murders, the attackers set the house on fire, causing widespread panic in the area. The fire burned the bodies and destroyed all household items.
The armed assailants successfully escaped. Upon receiving the report, the police and locals arrived at the scene. Due to the lack of an ambulance, the bodies were transported to Sohbatpur Hospital in a tractor trolley. After the necessary procedures, the bodies were handed over to the family.
SSP Sohbatpur, Engineer Muhammad Yusuf Bhangar, stated that following the incident, the police had set up roadblocks across the district. A search operation is ongoing to apprehend the culprits. He assured that the criminals would be brought to justice.
