PARACHINAR: The protest sit-in in Parachinar entered its ninth day as residents continue to demand the reopening of main roads blocked due to ongoing unrest.

Protesters, including elderly individuals, youth, and children, have staged a sit-in outside the Parachinar Press Club to voice their concerns. Addressing the gathering, key speak ers, including Chairman Moeen Hussain, Malik Zartaj Hussain, and Musarrat Bangash, urged the government to ensure the safety of all major routes in accordance with the recently signed peace agreement. They criticised the authorities for failing to provide essential goods, with food and medicine shortages now endangering lives in Upper and Lower Kurram.

“The unfortunate reality is that the population of over five hundred thousand people in Upper and Lower Kurram is being deprived of basic necessities. The road blockades have led to severe shortages of food and medicine, putting lives at risk,” said one of the protest leaders.

Simultaneously, residents of Bagan in Lower Kurram have also staged a sit-in, demanding the reconstruction of Bagan Bazaar and action against those responsible for its destruction. Protesters have blocked the main road, urging the authorities to address their grievances.
