BANNU: A locally made improvised explosive device (IED) was recovered from near a mosque on the premises of Ghoriwala Police Station here on Saturday.
The timely intervention by the Bomb Disposal Unit averted a potential catastrophe.
Police sources said that the Bomb Disposal Unit officials received a report about a suspicious bucket placed near the mosque adjacent to the police station. Upon investigation, explosive material was found inside the bucket. Acting swiftly, an expert from the BDU officials neutralized the device, ensuring the safety of the police station and surrounding areas.
