LAHORE : Punjab Information Minister Azma Bokhari has criticized PTI for attempting to flee from accountability, highlighting that the judges waited for two hours for the party’s “thieves’ family,” but they failed to appear in court.
Her remarks came in response to a statement by Barrister Saif. Azma Bokhari emphasized the hypocrisy in PTI’s definition of corruption, stating that according to them, corruption only occurs when wealth is taken abroad, while money laundering funds entering the country are considered “halal” corruption. She questioned, “Is receiving 458 kanal of land, Rs28 crores in cash, and a five-carat diamond ring in exchange for distributing money laundering proceeds, not corruption?”
She further added that the “thief is running because there is a twig in his beard,” implying guilt. Information minister concluded that a certified liar, corrupt, and dishonest person cannot be a true well-wisher of the nation and that families involved in corruption cannot escape accountability for long.
