JHANG: District Development Committee Chairman/Deputy Commissioner (DC) Ali Akbar on Friday directed heads of departments to submit progress reports regarding the ongoing development projects. He directed the Health and Education CEOs and Assistant Commissioners of Jhang, Shorkot, Ahmedpur Sial and Athara Hazari to enhance monitoring of the development projects.
Presiding over a meeting to review development projects implementation, he directed heads of Highway, Building Public Health Engineering and Local Government departments including municipalities, to ensure completion of the projects.
Ali Akbar said no leniency would be tolerated on early completion of projects quality material. Later, he chaired the District Price Controlling meeting and directed price magistrates to take action against the profiteers involved in hoarding.
The ACs must ensure the provision of extra stocks of flour, sugar and commodities in the open markets, Ali stressed, adding that the performance of the price-controlling magistrates would be monitored regularly.
Woman dies after falling from bike: An elderly woman died after falling from a motorcycle on Friday. Irshad Bibi, 53, a resident of Sargodha Road Colony was riding a motorcycle and fell near Sufi Mor on Chiniot Road and died on the spot.
