Vivo Y600 Turbo to launch on May 25 with 165Hz OLED: Expected specs revealed

Vivo has confirmed the Y600 Turbo will launch on May 25, and early specifications suggest it could be the most capable device the brand has released under its Y-series lineup.

Official teasers confirm two colourways at launch: white and pink. Beyond the aesthetic, the real story is in the hardware.

The Y600 Turbo will reportedly have an OLED screen measuring 6.83 inches and a 1.5K screen resolution—an unusual combination for a phone at this price point. Even more noteworthy, reports suggest that it may become the first phone from the Vivo lineup to have a 165Hz refresh rate.

Inside the Y600 Turbo, it is rumoured that you’ll find a Dimensity 8500 SoC from MediaTek, alongside LPDDR5x RAM and UFS 3.1 storage, which are components found in much more expensive devices. The exact RAM and storage variants have yet to be revealed.

The battery is the star of the show when it comes to those looking for longevity: a monstrous 9,020 mAh unit that supports 90W charging. As a comparison, most flagships have a 4,500 to 5,000 mAh battery unit.

The photography is managed by a 50-megapixel Sony LYT-600 sensor at the back and a 2-megapixel secondary lens. The Sony LYT-600 is one of the good-quality sensors, which has been seen in some premium phones before. A 16-megapixel front camera is used to take selfies and make video calls.

The device will come preloaded with the Android 16 operating system and OriginOS 6 of Vivo on top.
