Special traffic arrangements in Murree
Rawalpindi:City Traffic Police Murree has made extensive arrangements to avert traffic jams in view heavy influx of tourists during snowfall in the hill station and its surroundings.
According to Chief Traffic Office (CTO) Murree, Mughees Ahmad Hashmi, around 200 traffic wardens have been deputed to cope with expected inflow of traffic in case of snowfall and arrival of tourists in Murree.
He said that directives of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, Inspector General of Police and Additional Inspector General Traffic Police would be followed in letter and spirit. He said that one-day traffic would be allowed on five roads including View Fourth Road, Bank Road, Hall Road, Kuldana Road and Imtiaz Shaheed Road.
Moreover, road and area in front of Habib Bank, General Post Office (GPO) Chowk and up to Cecil Hotel and Kuldana Road and from Bank Road to Girls Degree College have been declared as parking-free zone. Mughees Hashmi further said that all the heavy traffic including food supply vehicles and water tankers would be allowed to provide their services from 1 a.m. to 7 a.m.
