Govt approves increase in hiring rates of official accomodation
Ministry of Housing issue a notification for increase in hiring rates
ISLAMABAD: The Ministry of Housing and Works has approved an increase in hiring rates for office accommodation by federal ministries, divisions and federal departments across major cities.
The decision to increase the rates was taken on the recommendation of Standing Committee on Review of Office Accommodation Hiring Rates. The Ministry of Housing has issued a notification for the increase in hiring rates. This increase has been made for Rawalpindi, Islamabad, Peshawar, Karachi, Lahore, Quetta and other cities.
In Islamabad’s Blue Area and Jinnah Super Market, Markaz F8, F10, E7, I8, G9, G10, G11, G8, New Blue Area and Mauv Area, the basement rent has been increased from Rs50 per square foot to Rs113 and the rent for other floors has been increased from Rs80 per square foot to Rs180 per square foot.
For other areas of Rawalpindi-Islamabad, the basement rent has been increased from Rs40 per square foot to Rs 60 per square foot and the rent for other floors has been increased from Rs60 per square foot to Rs100 per square foot. For commercial buildings in all areas of Peshawar, the basement rent has been increased from Rs20 per square foot to Rs45 per square foot and the rent for other floors has been increased from Rs35 per square foot to Rs79 per square foot. The basement rent for residential buildings has also been increased from Rs20 per square foot to Rs45 per square foot and the rent for other floors has been increased from Rs25 per square foot to Rs56 per square foot.
The rent of commercial buildings in Karachi’s Shahrah-e-Faisal, MA Jinnah Road, II Chundrigar Road, Gulshan-e-Iqbal, North Nazimabad, Saddar, Clifton and PECHS has been increased from Rs35 to Rs79 for basement and Rs50 per square foot to Rs113 per square foot for other floors. In other areas, the rent of the basement has been increased from Rs25 per square foot to Rs56 per square foot and the rent of other floors from Rs35 per square foot to Rs79 per square foot. For residential buildings, the rent of the basement has been fixed at Rs25 per square foot to Rs56 per square foot and the rent of other floors from Rs35 per square foot to Rs79 per square foot.
In Lahore, the basement rent of commercial buildings in Faisal Town, Model Town, Muslim Town, Saddar Cantt, Allama Iqbal Town, Main Sanda Road, Johar Town, Pine Avenue and Lake City has been increased from Rs30 per square foot to Rs68 per square foot and the rent of other floors from Rs55 per square foot to Rs124 per square foot. The basement rent of residential buildings has been increased from Rs20 per square foot to Rs45 per square foot and the rent of other floors from Rs45 per square foot to Rs101 per square foot.
In Lahore’s Ferozpur Road, Davis Road, Baghbanpura, Main Samanabad, the rate of basement has been increased from Rs25 per square foot to Rs56 per square foot and other floors from Rs55 per square foot to Rs124 per square foot.
