PKLI first hospital to secure JCI accreditation
LAHORE:The Pakistan Kidney and Liver Institute (PKLI) and Research Centre secured the accreditation by Joint Commission International (JCI), marking it as the first public hospital in the country and South Asia to achieve this recognition.
The accreditation announcement was made on Monday at an event attended by the Provincial Minister for Secondary Health Khawaja Salman Rafique, along with PKLI leadership, including the Chairman of the Board of Governors, Prof Saeed Akhter and PKLI Dean Prof Faisal Dar.
The JCI accreditation certified PKLI as meeting the world’s highest standards in patient care and safety, a milestone made possible through years of commitment and dedication. Since its inception, PKLI has performed over 1,700 kidney and liver transplants, with 75% of patients receiving treatment either for free or at subsidised rates. In support of these patients, PKLI has spent over Rs11 billion on treatment for indigent individuals, reinforcing its dedication to accessible healthcare for all. Khawaja Salman praised PKLI’s achievements.
